Who am I? Guess my name to win a bottle of wine

About DJC

The older I get, the less I know and the more inquisitive I get.

Unfortunately, despite a lifelong search, most of the answers elude me. That said, I love to ask the questions and fuel the debates that will ultimately lead us all to a better understanding of the big issues in life, the universe and everything.

They say that we spend 98% of our lives in our head. I for one would like to use that time as effectively as possible.

Correctly guess the identity of this person, at the peak of their fame between 1960 and 1990, and you could win!.

Each Friday, for the next 12 weeks, I will be giving away a bottle of Helen & Joey Estate Layla Cabernet Merlot. At the close of business each Friday, starting September 15, I will draw a winner.

Who am I? Just follow the clues to a bottle of wine.

All you have to do is tell me WHO I AM!

Every correct response will go in the draw to win a bottle of this excellent wine.

Each week I will give you 10 clues upon which to base your answer. Each of the 12 people I describe will have been at the peak of their fame between 1960 and 1990.

But please don't leave your answers in the comments box for fear of spoiling it for others. Instead, you can submit your responses to me here.

Who am I?

  • I was born in the United Kingdom during World War II.
  • I died in the United States when Jimmy Carter was president.
  • I was awarded an MBE.
  • I was married twice and had two children.
  • I had a successful musical career.
  • I was committed to living rather than planning.
  • I had more than one fantasy in my life.
  • I was as much a crusader as I was a songwriter.
  • I was well known for having a vision of a better world.
  • One of my names sounds downright prime ministerial
  • Good luck, everyone!
