How good are TED Talks? Whenever I need a little dose of motivation from amazingly talented people around the world, I’ll watch a few TED Talks.
The other day, I found one of the most enticing titles to a TED Talk that I just had to click on - Lessons From The Longest Study On Happiness.
This 75-year-long study, conducted by generations of researchers at Harvard University, followed hundreds of young men as they grew up, got married, had kids and grandkids. And across tens of thousands of pages of data and analysis, the researchers found one thing.
The men with strong, secure, quality relationships lived a happier and healthier life.
They lived longer compared to those who were lonely, but they discovered it wasn’t about the number of people the men knew and surrounded themselves with, or whether or not they were in a committed relationship, it was the overall quality of those relationships that made a difference.
“The people that were most satisfied in their relationships at age 50, were the healthiest at age 80.”
Have a watch of this inspiring video and let me know if you agree. Or tell us what you do to ensure you have strong relationships in your life.
