Who am I? Guess correctly to win a bottle of wine!

About Lanno

I was born when Richard Nixon was running the show and I am still alive today.
I've had a wide range of employment from Public Service, Nursing, Parliamentary Assistant to a Senator in Canberra and Teaching.
I come from a large family of nine.
I am the eldest of one set of twins in the family.
I have lived in Canberra, Coonamble and Merriwa.
I enjoy movies and the Academy Awards.
My favourite actress is Meryl Streep.

We have a new YsFriend submitting clues for this week's Who Am I?. Four-time winner John Lannen has compiled a doozy. Can you crack it?

To go in the draw to win a bottle of Helen & Joey Estate Layla Cabernet Merlot, all you have to do is tell me who I am, following the 10 clues I provide.

Can you guess who I am.

Every week for 12 weeks  - until December 4, 2017 - a winner is drawn from all of the correct responses.

Last week's winner was John Lannen of NSW,  who correctly answered Mick Jagger. (Ys EDITOR'S NOTE: Yup! The same John Lannen who's created this week's brainteaser. Since he's been dominating the competition, we thought it would be fun to put his knowledge to the test. How did he do?)

So here it is:

Who am I?

  • I was born in New York when Wilson was running things, but died when it was Ronald
  • My stage name was different to my birth name
  • The greatest love of my life did not love me back
  • You wouldn’t think it, but I had a connection with Marilyn and JFK
  • In the late 1940s, I married into royalty
  • Glenn Ford once carried me on his shoulder
  • I once worked in a nightclub to prevent my brother’s execution
  • Red was fascinated with my hair
  • I was very good at keeping a secret
  • I had a connection with Aphrodite.
