Today, we have the greatest of them all when it comes to notable historic birthdays. Is it yours today, too?

  • The founding father of the United States, Benjamin Franklin, was born in 1706;
  • Notorious American mobster Al Capone was born on this day in 1899;
  • Well-loved actress Betty White was born in 1923;
  • And heavyweight boxing legend Muhammad Ali, The Greatest of all time, was born in 1942.

    • Not only was it an important date for famous birthdays, but a beloved actor got married on this day many years ago.

  • John Wayne (real name Marion Robert Morrison) wed actress Esperanza Baur in Long Beach, California, in 1946.
