Five nature photos to blow your mind
About Justin
Sharing my thoughts and opinions with you
We live in a weird, crazy and astonishing world, one that is worth looking after.
The internet is filled with some of the coolest photos and videos of our world -- and the creatures who live here with us.
With this in mind, here are my top five wildlife photos from the internet this past week.
1.) A flying peacock
This image captures the somewhat rare spectacle of a beautiful peacock taking flight. Before seeing this photo, I had no idea that peacocks could even fly!
2.) The open mouth of a lemon shark
The lemon shark can grow up to 3.4 metres long and often feed at night by emitting electro-receptors to find their main prey, fish. This may look terrifying, but lemon sharks are not considered a threat to humans.
3.) A flying gurnard fish
This flying gurnard fish in New Zealand is spectacular. They are traditionally bottom-dwelling fish in tropical waters. Additionally, they range in colour with this being one of the more beautiful and colourful of the species.
4.) An algae-covered tide pool
This little pool in Nova Scotia, Canada, has been covered by algae -- with the green highlights looking so cool against the dark water.
5.) Golden rocket frog
I have never seen a golden rocket frog, or Anomaloglossus beebei, before. The gold colour of it is absolutely stunning.
